WACO, TX — Folks in Waco got a chance to meet several of the candidates running to take over for Representative Bill Flores Tuesday.

Ten Republican candidates running for retiring Representative Bill Flores’s seat in Congress gathered at the Texas State Technical College campus in Waco for the second of three public forums.

All of the candidates answered a wide range of questions, from immigration reform to health care and veterans' services.

Grass Roots Victory 2020, who organized the forum, said the goal is to make more people involved and educate voters on the candidates.

“Last week we were in College Station. We had over 200 people come to that one, and it was people that I had never seen before. So, I think that this is just a venue for the everyday guy off the street that’s a Republican that wants to get to know and get involved to come and join us,” said Carol Nichols, Committee Chairman of Grass Roots Victory 2020.

The third and final forum will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. next Tuesday at the Civic Center in Jewett.
