LORENA, TX — School administrators and the Lorena Police Department are investigating a potential threat made against Lorena ISD.

In a letter sent to parents, Superintendent Joe Kucera said a situation occurred on Thursday, January 16 at the middle school.

Kucera said school administrators were made aware of a picture, which showed a potential threat to Lorena ISD schools, being circulated among students at Lorena Middle School.

School administrators and Lorena PD are working to contact all of the parents of students who may have been sent the picture.

Lorena PD will provide an increased police presence at the school district.

The district says significant measures have been taken to ensure the safety and security of all students.

Kucera says there is no imminent threat to Lorena ISD at this time.

Any parents or students with questions are invited to talk to Kucera at (254) 857-3616.
