WACO, TX — A high speed chase through Falls and McLennan County ended with two people in custody Saturday morning.

Roman Nino Jr., 20-years-old, from Waco, was the driver of car and has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon x2 (2nd Degree Felony), evading arrest with a motor vehicle (3rd degree felony), evading arrest (misdemeanor), reckless driving and possession of marijuana.

Dairah Brooklyn Rodriguez, 20-years-old, from Waco, was the passenger in the car and has been charged with evading arrest (misdemeanor).

At least four agencies including Falls County Sheriff's deputies, Robinson Police, McLennan County Sheriff's deputies and Waco DPS assisted Lott Police as they chased a vehicle with two occupants on US 77.

Once in Waco, the suspect's vehicle wrecked into another car at Shipley's Do-nuts on Waco Drive and Nino tried to bail, according to McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara.

The man in the vehicle the suspect hit then got out and helped police capture Nino before he could flee.

The man told 25 News he was in the drive-thru at Shipley's with his son when the suspect car hit his vehicle.

As Nino tried to run, the man got out and tackled him, without realizing the police officers around him.

Nino and Rodriguez were taken into custody and transported to the Falls County Jail.
