WACO, TX — On the night of October 10, 2020, at about 11:45 PM Waco Officers were dispatched to the intersection of N 9th Street and Jefferson Ave. in Waco about a serious traffic crash.

As they arrived on the scene, they located 2 vehicles that had collided in the intersection; a 2007 Buick SUV and a 2008 Cadillac DTS 4 door car.

Inside the Cadillac were 3 occupants, 2 of which suffered serious injuries during the crash and 1 whose injuries were fatal. 1 of the victims with injuries, a now 30-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but was last listed in stable condition.

The driver of the 2007 Buick SUV fled the scene. During the investigation, detectives learned that the Buick SUV ran the stop at the intersection of N 9th Street and Jefferson Ave, causing the 2 vehicles to collide in the intersection.

Although the driver of the Buick fled, detectives were able to learn who the suspect was.

After the fleeing suspect was identified, he was located and arrested for the crash. He has now been taken to the Bill Logue Juvenile Detention Center, where he was charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid- Causing Death and with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
