LACY LAKEVIEW, TX — Five officers and a dispatcher have been recognized after locating and talking down a young man who threatened to commit suicide while on Facebook Live.
On November 3, 2020, the Lacy Lakeview Police Department received information that a young man threatened to commit suicide and pointed a pistol to his head while he was on Facebook Live.
Dispatcher SueMarie Oliver, Officer Jonathan Newman, Officer Thomas Beasley, Detective Kevin Carter, Corporal Scott Dent and Sergeant Jason Higgins came together to not only locate the man but also get him mental help.
The officers and dispatchers were honored with Life Saving Awards.
