WACO, TX — A Waco Police Department officer was bitten during a fight with a suspect at a Dollar General store Tuesday.

The department says officers were called to the Dollar General, located at 4012 Bosque Boulevard, for a forgery in progress.

Thirty-year-old Fernando Sandoval went into the business and was allegedly attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill.

Waco PD says officers began to take Sandoval into custody when he began fighting an officer. The officer was bitten on his right forearm. A bone in his right hand was broken and he also received cuts on his head.
