Police: Disturbance at gas station leads to discharge of a weapon by an off-duty officer

WACO, TX — Waco officers responded to a disturbance involving an off-duty officer at a gas station on Hillcrest.

Waco Police said officers responded to 3315 Hillcrest Drive after it was reported there was a disturbance with a discharge of a firearm.

Responding officers were able to determine an off-duty officer, from an outside agency was at that location when a disturbance between an employee of the gas station and management of the business started.

During the disturbance the off-duty officer intervened and a weapon was discharged.

No one was injured during the incident.

One person was transported for medical clearance, claiming an ear issue.

It was initially believed that another State agency would be investigating this incident.

However, further discussions by Waco Police Department administrators determined that Waco PD would work the case.

Police said at this point their investigation is ongoing and no additional details are available.
