LORENA, TX — It won't be white Christmas in Central Texas this year, but that doesn't mean we're out of the woods when it comes to weather.

The Lorena Fire Department says it's seeing an increase in grass fires due to dry fuels and high winds.

If you are starting any outdoor fires or fireworks, authorities say use extreme caution.

The fire department is also urging land owners to start preparing their property in the event there's a fire near.
