Humane Society of Central Texas moving to online, phone-based foster and adoption service, curbside meet-and-greets

WACO, TX — The Humane Society of Central Texas is moving to an online and phone-based foster and adoption service as well as curbside meet-and-greets due to the spread of coronavirus.

The shelter announced the changes will begin on Saturday, March 21.

The Humane Society will be offering online and phone-based foster and adoption matchmaking services, along with curbside meet and greets on an appointment-only basis.

Those interest in fostering or adopting an animal can submit an online application. Then an appointment will be made to met the animal in the Waco Animal Shelter parking lot.

Fosters and adopters must be at least 18-years-old, have valid identification and renters must provide written proof that their landlord allows dogs and what their breed restrictions are.

The Humane Society of Central Texas is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
