WACO, TX — A man was arrested and taken to jail after an early morning disturbance.
The Waco Police Department reported they were conducting a "police operation" at LL Sams Historic Lofts located at 2000 S. 1st Street Friday morning.
According to Waco police, officers responded to a disturbance at the complex around 5:30 a.m. Police locked down an area of the complex after learning that a man had shot several rounds inside of an apartment.
SWAT and negotiators arrived to the scene and the man surrendered to officials.
Police said the man, who was the sole occupant of the apartment, fired several rounds inside of the apartment, causing property damage but no injuries.
Students were advised to stay in their apartments if they lived in the area. The scene was cleared by 7:45 a.m.
The man was arrested and taken to the McLennan County Jail.
