Four injured after fight breaks out at gathering, suspect arrested

WACO, TX — Deputies are investigating after several people were injured during a large gathering in Waco.

The suspect, 19-year-old Carlos Alexander, was arrested Sunday, according to McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara.

Alexander was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the McLennan County Sheriff's Department, Alexander got into his car after a fight at a large gathering on Orchard Ln. and proceeded to drive into the crowd,

The incident occurred around 2:19 AM on Sunday at a trail ride hosted by the Buck 'Em Off Trailriderz.

Four people total were injured. Two remain in the hospital.

Three women were injured by the vehicle, said Sheriff McNamara.

One of those women is in critical condition after being run over.

"She was run over at least three times," said Sheriff McNamara.

One person was originally believed to have been shot but was suffering from a cut.

However, there were shots fired, according to the McLennan County SO. The suspect's car was recovered by deputies in Temple with bullet holes.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
