WACO, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation plans to close all lanes of University Parks Drive where they cross under I-35 nightly starting tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5 to Friday, August 14 to continue reconstructing the southbound I-35 overpass.

Drivers on University Parks Drive planning to cross under I-35 will need to use either 4th/5th Streets or MLK Boulevard.

Additionally, crews plan to close all lanes of 5th Street where they cross under I-35 on Thursday, August 6 to begin paving the southbound I-35 overpass.

Eastbound drivers on 5th Street planning to cross under I-35 will need to use University Parks Drive.

Eastbound University Parks Drive, where it crosses under I-35, will remain open during this work.

A similar closure will be needed as crews work over 4th Street, and more information on this work and lane closure will be shared as work is scheduled.

Crews also continue to upgrade drainage on the southbound frontage road near MLK Boulevard.

To perform this work safely and efficiently, crews plan to close the southbound exit for MLK Blvd./University Parks Dr./4th/5th Streets (Exit 335C) nightly for approximately three weeks starting tonight, August, 4.

Southbound mainlane traffic planning to use Exit 335C will need to exit prior at US 84/Waco Drive (Exit 338A).

Overnight Lane Closure Hours are Monday to Thursday: 7 p.m. – 6 a.m, Saturday: 7 p.m. – 10 a.m and Sunday: 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Signage for all closures will be in place to inform and direct drivers. Schedules are dependent on weather, field conditions and work progress.
