WACO, TX — The co-founder of Bush's Chicken Charlene Bush died on Monday after her five-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Charlene was 63 years old.

Charlene and her husband Keith opened the chicken restaurant in 1996. The first location was opened on Hewitt Drive. After some success, the couple began franchising Bush's Chicken in 2005.

Charlene, lovingly nicknamed "Bushbaby" was dedicated to giving back to her community and actively donated to many local charities including Fuzzy Friends.

Keith and Charlene Bush, who were married for 45 years, donated thousands of meals to deploying and returning soldiers as well as military families on Fort Hood.

The couple's business has now grown to over 85 locations across Texas.
