City of Waco announces changes and closures for Martin Luther King Jr. holiday

WACO, TX — City of Waco offices will be closed on Monday, January 18th for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Details follow concerning some specific services and departments:

  • Solid Waste Services will not run collection routes on Monday, January 18th. Monday’s routes will be picked up on Wednesday, January 20th. Cobbs Convenience Center will be closed and the landfill will be closed to the public but will accept franchise haulers until 4:30 p.m.
  • The Waco-McLennan County Library System will be closed on Monday. The libraries will reopen on Tuesday during their regularly scheduled hours.
  • Waco Transit Waco Transit System will run as usual on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
  • Cameron Park Zoo, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum, and the Waco Mammoth National Monument will all be open for everyone to enjoy.
