WACO, TX — Baylor University is requiring all students to test negative for COVID-19 before returning to Waco for the spring semester.

The semester is set to begin on Tuesday, January 19.

Testing kits will be mailed out to the address students register through the testing company, Everlywell.

Students must wait to collect their specimen three to five days before returning to Waco, and then send it back to Everlywell on the same day of collection via UPS.

Those living in Waco will need to submit their test kit between Monday, January 4 and Friday, January 8.

If a student tested positive after October 19, they do not need to preform a pre-return test. However, they must send proof of the diagnosis.

In a message to students, the university said it is important students be tested before returning to Waco and not just campus in order to prevent spread in Waco and the surrounding communities.
