WACO, TX — The Humane Society of Central Texas is offering free adoptions after taking in 52 dogs in the last two days.
In a post, they thanked the community for helping out on Wednesday. They said 7 dogs were adopted, 3 animals were reclaimed by their owners. 3 dogs were rescued, and 6 dogs were fostered.
Although this was a tremendous effort by our community, they still took in 36 animlas on Tuesday and 16 on Wednesday. If you are looking for a new pet, they are offering FREE adoptions.
They said they received an intake of 26 dogs from a single home. They are looking for anyone who wants a new addition to their home.
The shelter said they are also looking for fosters.
They are specifically trying to get their oldest shelter dogs adopted out. They said when they receive a large influx of dogs, the dogs that have been at the shelter for the longest time are most at risk.
