Oceans Healthcare, a behavioral health provider focused on healing and long-term recovery, announced the expansion of its Texas behavioral health services with the construction of a new hospital in Waco. The company plans to open 48-bed Oceans Behavioral Hospital Waco at 5931 Crosslake Parkway later this year and anticipates staffing around 90 clinical and non-clinical positions.

Local city officials will join members of the Oceans Healthcare leadership team at the planned hospital site Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m., for an official groundbreaking ceremony.

“Our company has made a commitment to expand mental health treatment access and education in communities across Texas,” said Stuart Archer, CEO of Oceans Healthcare. “We are grateful for the opportunity now to share that commitment with the residents of McLennan County and look forward to many years serving as a trusted health care resource.”

More than 10 percent of Waco residents who responded to the 2016 community health needs assessment report living with someone who has a diagnosed behavioral health issue, yet Texas as a whole ranks 43rd nationwide for scarce access to care

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Waco will be conveniently located near Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center and will provide inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults ages 18 - 54 and seniors 55 and older. Highly-trained clinical and support teams provide care to patients managing depression, anxiety, behavioral disorders associated with early-stage Alzheimer’s or dementia, and other behavioral health issues.
