This launch is the first time in nine years American astronauts will take off from the United States. It is also the first time astronauts will use a privately-funded spacecraft to do so.
The Falcon 9 rocket was initially set to launch on Wednesday, however it was scrubbed due to bad weather. It has been rescheduled for Saturday at 3:22 p.m. ET., weather permitting.
