COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M Engineering, or TEEX, held a unique class in College Station Friday- bomb and ordinance disposal.
Thirteen civilians learned how to properly detect, identify and dispose of unexploded military ordinances.
"These guys are being trained because if they don't do the job right, somebody's either going to get seriously injured, maim themselves, kill themselves or somebody else, so they have to know the steps and what order to do them in safely," said Ed Fritz, Explosives Training Manager.
Ten to 20% of ordinances that are dropped on military bases do not function as designed.
