COLLEGE STATION, TX — The College Station Police Department says they arrested a man in a kilt for displaying a handgun inside a bar.

Officers responded to a disturbance on Jan. 31 at Dixie Chicken bar where David Wayne Dodd had displayed a handgun.

He then went to O'Bannon's Bar where he was kicked out.

Witnesses said Dodd was intoxicated and standing in the street arguing with a driver of a vehicle on the 100 block of Boyett St.

Officers say they observed Dodd speaking to someone in a car when they arrived, and called the suspect over to them.

When the officer asked Dodd if he had any weapons, Dodd responded "yeah, right up front."

Police say they recovered a Ruger LCP .380 handgun out of the front pocket of Dodd's kilt, and placed him in handcuffs.

Dodd did not have a handgun license.

He was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon in a licensed establishment.
