Man arrested after driving into home of 72-year-old woman in Bryan

BRYAN, TX — A man was arrested after driving into a home and damaging other property in Bryan on Saturday.

Police say Adam Alvaro Garcia was intoxicated when he damaged multiple properties on Timberline Ct in Bryan totaling $20,000 of damage.

Officers were dispatched to a major accident call at 3402 Timberline Ct just after midnight.

They say Garcia drove his pickup truck into a house in the 2300 block of N. Earl Rudder Freeway Frontage Road.

According to police, Garcia drove in the backyard between 3405 Timberline Ct. and 3406 Timberline Ct. and damaged the resident's fences.

He continued to drive his vehicle and finally collided into the residence bedroom located at 3402 Timberline Ct.

The residents of 3402 Timberline Ct advised officers that they observed Garcia driving in the backyard between 3405 and 3406 Timberline Ct before colliding into their home.

According to the affidavit, the truck went into the home of a 72-year-old woman's bedroom. She told police she had just gotten up to go to the restroom when the collision occurred.

The woman told police the damage caused bricks, lumber, wires, cable, sheetrock, and furniture to fly into her home.

Furniture and sheetrock landed on her bed where she had been laying just seconds prior to the crash.

As police were investigating, they received another call from a woman who said she saw Garcia strike her parked vehicle on Woodville Road.

Garcia was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for injuries.

He admitted to police that he had 4 beers and knew he should not have been driving at the time of the accident.

Garcia was arrested for criminal mischief more than $30,000 but less than $150,000, deadly conduct, and driving while intoxicated.

His bonds are set at $6,000.
