The Morgan's Point Resort Fire Department helped rescue an injured hiker at Rogers Park Sunday.

The Morgan's Point Resort Fire Department was dispatched to locate and care for an injured hiker in Rogers Park at noon on Sunday, according to a Facebook post.

The individual sustained a traumatic injury due to a fall and was inaccessible to a ground ambulance.

Rescue and Squad 61 responded with MD3 (Medical Director).

"Temple Fire & Rescue’s Special Operations Rescue 3 was added to the call for their rope rescue capabilities and manpower," MPR FD said in the post.

Once the patient was accessed and stabilized, they were loaded into a “stokes basket” and lowered to Marine 61 at the shoreline below.

Marine 61 transported the patient to a location where they were then handed off to Temple EMS.

"It was another busy Sunday for MPR Firefighters," the post said. "The department answered a Priority 1 Respiratory Distress call simultaneous to this rescue alarm. An illegal burning call and later, a grass fire in the county kept crews busy well into the evening."
