4 displaced from mobile home after fire in Temple

TEMPLE, TX — Temple Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire on Friday.

Officials said at 10:54 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a mobile home at 1104 Pima.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the single-family mobile home. Firefighters began extinguishing the fire and confirmed that all occupants were out of the home.

The fire was brought under control at 11:10 a.m.

A resident of the mobile home did receive burns and smoke inhalation from re-entering the home prior to the fire department's arrival. The resident refused care or transport to a hospital for their injuries.

During the search of the home, firefighters found a dead cat due to the fire.

Four people were displaced from the mobile home and the American Red Cross has been contacted to assist with their needs.

Temple Fire and Rescue investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire. A total monetary loss of the home has not been determined.

Oncor Electric, Temple EMS, Temple Animal Control and Temple police were on the scene.
