Service details announced for law enforcement officer killed in crash

CALDWELL, TX — Christopher Eugene Luttrell lived to serve his community.

In his lifetime, he spent 19 years and 10 months on the force, working for the Burleson County Sheriff's Office, Caldwell Police Department, and University of Houston Campus Police.

In 2014, he became an officer on the Blinn College Campus.

Luttrell was most proud of his work with the Sexual Assault Resource Center, according to his obituary. He was dedicated to teaching freshman the importance of consent and the dangers of sexual violence.

On December 17, 2020, Luttrell was killed in a crash on SH 21/FM 50 in Brazos County.

He is survived by his wife Erin; their children Christopher, Kenner, Sandie Lee, Kyleigh, Grace, Zeke; his Dad Billy; his siblings Mark and Mandie; nephews James, Billy, Jerry; his close friends Cory and Jason who were like brothers to him; close friends, coworkers, and honorary pallbearers Troy Canterbury, Bryan Hayes, and Thomas James.

His visitation will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 28 at the Strickland Funeral Home. His memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on December 29 at the Caldwell Civic Center.
