BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — DPS Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash in Brazos Co. on SH 21/FM 50.
According to DPS, the incident occurred at approximately 9:27 A.M., involving a 2018 Ford Van Fed-Ex vehicle and a 2020 Kia Sorento.
The Kia was traveling east on SH 21 when the right rear tire had a blowout. The Kia driver over-corrected and crossed over into the westbound lane where it collided with the Fed-Ex vehicle.
The driver of the KIA, 46 - year old male Christopher Eugene Luttrell of Caldwell, TX was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Fed-Ex, 23 - year old male Rene Garcia of Bryan, TX, was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital (Bryan) in serious condition.
It is still unknown now what cargo the Fed-Ex was carrying at the time.
