WHITNEY, TX — Whitney Middle School was evacuated Friday after receiving a bomb threat.
According to Whitney ISD, a note was found in a Whitney Middle School restroom that referenced a bomb threat. The district notified the district's Guardian Team, our SRO, the Whitney Police Department and area law enforcement officers, as well as campus administrators.
The district says the note did not have specific references, but the middle school campus was evacuated to the high school campus so the property could be searched out of an abundance of caution.
The campus was cleared by authorities. Students have returned to class and will be released at their regular times.
