URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois took doubles and won five of six matches on the singles court to defeat Baylor 6-1 Sunday at the Atkins Tennis Center.

Baylor’s lone win came from sophomore Livia Kraus on the No. 2 singles court where she took a three-set win over Jaclyn Switkes of the Illini, 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5). The win helped Kraus get back in the win column after one unfinished match and four-straight losses. Kraus improved to 5-4 on the year in singles play, and she is ranked No. 70 in the nation.

Kris Sorokolet battled on the No. 4 court but came up on the short end of a three-set match to Illinois’ Emilee Duong, 6-0, 3-6, 6-2. The loss for Baylor extended its losing streak to six matches.

• Livia Kraus won her sixth singles match of the season and 25th of her career in dual-match play.

Baylor returns home to face Kentucky Friday in Waco. Baylor is 4-1 at home this season.
