THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas – Due to unforeseen circumstances, No. 9 Baylor and No. 1 Wake Forest men’s tennis announced Sunday’s match in Winston-Salem, N.C. has been canceled.
“The health and care of our student-athletes is of utmost importance to our department and tennis program. With many of our students currently experiencing flu-like symptoms, we unfortunately had to make the tough decision to cancel the match,” Director of Tennis and Head Coach Brian Boland said. “We were looking forward to a top-10 matchup, and hope we will have an opportunity to reschedule in the future.”
Sunday would have been ninth-ranked Baylor’s second road match of the season, most recently topping No. 24 Michigan in Ann Arbor as part of the 2019 ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
The Bears are back in action next weekend as they compete in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, running Feb. 15-17 in Chicago, Ill.
