Nursery rhymes filled the air at one Central Texas library Tuesday morning.
It was all a part of the Baby Steps Lapsit program at the Stewart C. Meyer Harker Heights Public Library.
The program encouraged parents and caregivers to work on pre-reading skills.
The class was all about early literacy and making sure the kids are ready to read once they get to school.
“And so we like to show them it is so easy. It is literally as easy as playing with them, singing with them and reading to them,” said Amanda Hairston, the children’s librarian who hosted the class.
The library holds the class every Tuesday at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. for children 18 months and younger.
