A man was arrested and charged Tuesday after police say he was communicating with a detective who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
According to Bellmead police, a detective has been communicating with 42-year-old David Eugene Loveless, who reached out to her on a decoy social media account.
Loveless continued to communicate with the detective believing she was a 14-year-old girl. The detective received multiple sexually suggestive messages from him.
He eventually solicited the decoy to meet up for sex.
On Tuesday, Bellmead police executed an operation to provide Loveless an opportunity to meet and take him into custody.
At approximately 3 p.m., Loveless arrived at the designated location. A felony stop was initiated while he was still occupied in his vehicle.
Loveless chose to evade officers in his vehicle but did not go very far because he pulled into a dead end and could go no further.
The felony stop was completed, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Loveless was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor and evading in a vehicle.
