Baylor Women's Basketball's Landrum earns first Big 12 weekly honor

WACO, Texas – Junior guard Juicy Landrum averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Baylor Lady Bears, garnering her co-Big 12 Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.

Landrum, the Waco native, shared the honor with West Virginia’s Tynice Martin. Landrum scored 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds and three assists Wednesday vs. K-State before pouring in a career-high 23 points on the road at TCU. Against the Horned Frogs, Landrum shot 9-of-16 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from long range. She grabbed eight rebounds and dished five assists as well to help Baylor beat TCU for the 26th consecutive time.

The award was the first weekly honor for the junior guard, and Martin averaged 20.5 points for WVU to share the honor. For the week, Landrum averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

Baylor moved up to a tie for second in the Associated Press Top 25 Monday with UConn, and the Lady Bears return to action on the road Wednesday at Kansas at 7 p.m.
