LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police say that Krystal Whipple, 21, has been arrested. She was arrested Friday morning in Glendale, Arizona, by FBI Phoenix Violent Crime Task Force.
Police say that Whipple ran over 51-year-old Ngoc Q. Nguyen on Dec. 29 outside of Crystal Nails & Spa on West Flamingo Road over a $35 manicure. Nguyen attempted to stop Whipple's car as she was leaving. She was ran over and dragged by the car. She later died at University Medical Center.
Whipple has a criminal history, including using a credit card without the owner's permission. Her mother and grandmother went on national television after the incident to plead for Whipple to turn herself in.
The family of a Las Vegas nail tech who was allegedly killed by a customer is talking to 13 Action News.
Officers were originally called to a nail salon in the 4900 block of West Flamingo Road, near Decatur Boulevard, at around 4 p.m. on Saturday with reports of a death of an employee.
Police said a customer ran over and a killed woman who was attempting to stop the patron from leaving without paying for a service at the salon.
That victim was identified as 51-year-old Ngoc Q. Nguyen from Southern California.
"It's probably going to affect us every day for most of our lives," said Anne Trinh.
13 Action News spoke with Trinh and her two siblings on Tuesday night.
"If God felt that it's time for my mom to go then, it's time for her to go," said Trinh. "It's all in God's hands."
As of Tuesday, police said the woman who was accused of running over Nguyen had not been arrested.
Nguyen's girls want to thank the community for its support .
