Killeen police are investigating a shooting that happened on Dec. 20.
According to police, at approximately 9:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Westcliff Drive in reference to a 911 call about a burglary in process.
When officers arrived, they were told that a homeowner and intruder were involved in a verbal altercation that became physical.
During the altercation, the intruder was shot.
24-year-old Yorrick Trent Toms was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:44 p.m.
The case is still being investigated.
