Over a dozen people in Temple started the day off by dancing into the new year.
Veronica Torres said it is never too early to think about the new year.
"I started in September, and I'm doing pretty good," said Torres.
She talked about her New Year's resolutions.
"Medical goals, you know losing more weight," said Torres.
Torres has struggled with her cholesterol.
"They told me at first I was cholesterol borderline, and then they put me on the low dose of blood pressure. Well currently since I've been exercising, my blood pressure has been perfect," said Torres.
She rang in the new year with like-minded people at a New Year's Day Dance Party at Jazzercise Temple Fitness Center.
"We just really look forward to kind of starting off the new year and getting everybody fit again. We always say that summer bodies are made in January," said Jazzercise Temple Fitness Center Owner Terri Manning.
"I feel great. I look forward to this new year and exercising more," said Torres.
