A polka-dancing duo in Belton appeared in Clint Eastwood’s new movie "The Mule."

Betty and Stanley Nemec have been dancing for a decade at In The Mood Ballroom in Temple. They say they jumped at the opportunity to kick up their heels on the big screen.

Little did they know that when they arrived at the set, there was an even bigger surprise to come.

“They asked me my name, they went back to Clint Eastwood. They came back to me and said okay Betty, you’re going to be dancing with Clint Eastwood. You’re going to be his dance partner,” said Betty.

She continued, “I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked that I was chosen. And then when I was dancing, I was like what do I say?”

The original motion picture tells the story of a Michigan man caught trafficking three million dollars worth of cocaine. A scene called for a polka dancer in the script. While the actual scene only lasted a minute, the shoot took about nine hours.

"The Mule" is still playing in theaters. The Nemecs say if they ever have a chance to dance in a movie again, they would do it in a heartbeat.
