STAFFORD, VA (WWBT) - Stafford County Sheriff’s deputies found an intoxicated teenager wrapped up in a blanket without clothes and asleep on a couch after he broke into a house.
Deputies were called Thursday morning to the report of a burglary in progress on Pierce Court.
Police said the family was asleep when they heard the 16-year-old knock on the door and repeatedly yell to be let in. Homeowners did not recognize him and opened a window to tell him to leave.
The teen began kicking the door and nearby window, causing the homeowner to get his firearm and shoot the ground as a warning to get him to leave.
He continued kicking the window and eventually broke into the basement area of the home.
The family then barricaded themselves in the bedroom with furniture until deputies arrived.
Deputies set up a perimeter and got the homeowners and their baby out of the house safely.
Officials found the teen asleep on the couch in the living room, naked and wrapped up in a blanket.
He was turned over into the custody of his parents.
Charges are pending.
