Restaurants in CTX prepare for holiday service

After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, planning a meal may not be your top priority.

Restaurants have been preparing to host families and friends for their Christmas Eve festivities.

Almost twice as many people dine out on Christmas Eve compared to the average day. And restaurant owners say it takes a lot to roll out the red carpet for guests celebrating the holiday.

Shilo Inn in Killeen says they spend countless hours preparing for the holidays.

"We're used to cooking for a lot of people for the holidays. Christmas is usually 200 to 250 people," said Matthew Cranfill, General Manager of Shilo Inn Restaurant. "Everybody is used to staying busy in somewhat high-stress situations."

Christmas day also draws in a huge turnout of customers to chow down for the holiday. As restaurant staff wraps up their service for Christmas Eve, they roll out the red carpet for the next day.
