On Dec. 17, John White was on his way to take his daughter to school on his motorcycle when he was hit by another driver. His family said the motorist is uninsured.

White was airlifted to the hospital and was released later that day with a broken shoulder and lacerations on his head.

White will be out of work for several weeks while he recovers.

His daughter, Rebecca, was sent to McLane Children's Hospital with more serious injuries.

Rebecca has a fractured femur, knee, tibia, fibula and two breaks in her ankle.

She has already had two surgeries and two blood transfusions.

Her family said more surgeries may be needed and they aren't sure what her limitations will be once she heals.

The White family will hold a fundraiser on Jan. 5 to raise money to cover the cost of Rebecca's treatment.

The fundraiser will include live music, food, raffles and a poker run.

The event will be held at The Pit Stop from noon to 6 p.m. The address is 14595 FM439, Belton, TX 76513.
