HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - A former Chesterfield Sheriff’s Office captain was given a 12-month suspended sentence, which means he will serve no jail time, after having a child porn charge amended.
Donny Dixon received the sentence after his felony possession of child porn charge was downgraded to misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Dixon resigned earlier this year after the charge was brought against him. He had been promoted to captain only a short while earlier.
A source said Dixon was “one of the shining stars” within the office since he was hired in 2004.
His arrest followed a raid of his Ashland home by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
