UMHB football defeated Wisconsin-Whitewater to earn their third straight national championship appearance.

Scoring started slowly for the Cru. The Warhawks defense held them scoreless in the first quarter, but in the second UMHB started to shine.

Quarterback De'Nerian Thomas rushed for a touchdown before the Cru offense marched down for a field goal.

After that, UMHB forced a punt and Aaron Sims returned it 90 yards for another score to make it a 17-0 lead at the half.

Whitewater would score in the third quarter, but the fourth was all UMHB.

De Jackson would intercept a Warhawk pass which the offense turned into a Markeith Miller touchdown.

The Cru wouldn't look back on the way to a 31-14 rout over the only team to have a winning record against them.

Now UMHB advances to the Stagg Bowl, which is the first one to be held in Texas. They will have a rematch against last year's champion, Mount Union, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. in Shenandoah.
