Peach nail polish and some pampering at Posh Spa & Lounge in Waco is just the treat for a teen who has worked hard to accomplish her goals this year.

"Have you ever stopped and thought to yourself that you're proud?" asked Central Texas News Now Anchor Lindsay Liepman.

"Because I've come a long way. I am proud of myself," said Izabella.

Izabella, 14, has a heart for animals and wants to someday open a rescue shelter.

"They're just there to love on you and keep you company through a lot of hard times," she said.

A year ago when we first met Izzy, she was hopeful about adoption. But when a forever family didn't come through, she almost gave up on adoption but decided to give it another try.

"Scary because I was planning to go to a transitional program. I just didn't want to have a family. Honestly, I thought it was too late and still do. I wanted to reject people so they couldn't hurt me," she said.

Izzy's adoption caseworker hopes this will be the year they find a match.

"She's a great kid. She wants a single mom and she wants to be loved. That's all she wants," said Lacy Vavra.

"She's been in the system going on three years now," said Toni Fitch, CPS Human Prep Supervisor.

"It's time," said Liepman.

"It's over time," said Fitch.

A mom and maybe some younger siblings will give Izzy what she's been hoping for. A home for every holiday.

"They're going to be getting a very beautiful lady inside and out. Just needs someone to nurture and guide her," said Fitch.

"She's such a sweet kid and she's still coming to understand that adoption isn't just until you're 18. I see her decorating a tree with her family for many years to come and I hope we find that for her," said Vavra.

Izabella is featured in The Heart Gallery of Central Texas, a program of Partnerships for Children. You can read her bio to learn more about adoption. Central Texas News Now "Forever Families" airs every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
