Soldiers on Fort Hood are honoring our 41st Commander-In-Chief.
Soldiers are firing a solitary cannon, paying respect to former President George H.W. Bush.
The cannon is fired at the top and bottom of each hour.
The cannon firing every 30 minutes is Army protocol for a deceased president or former president.
This tradition will continue until Bush is laid to rest at his presidential library in College Station.
Soldiers will also fire 21 guns at noon and 50 guns on the evening of his burial.
Texas A&M will be closed for his funeral on Thursday.
