Many enjoyed the beginning of the holiday season at Waco Wonderland.
The day was filled with games, Christmas music, meeting Santa and sledding down the only snow hill in Waco.
Thousands joined in on the fun this year as the Waco Parks and Rec Association hosted the event downtown.
Whether its your first year here or sixth Waco Wonderland brings families together.
"This is the first time that I had actually have seen that they were having it down here," Breea Sadler said. "And so now that I known about it we're probably going to make it an annual thing."
Breea Sadler brought her niece and nephew to the event and there was one big-ticket item that caught their attention.
"It's this, this ride," Carl Simmons said. "Because I was going so fast it felt like I was going probably 50 miles per hour."
No matter the age, snow brings fun for everyone.
"It's a great feeling coming out here because you have people young and old," Jonathan Cook, with the City of Waco said. "Families and friends and really come out to kick off this holiday season. and all it is, is about the sense of community that we have down here"
With the holiday cheer, music and even meeting Santa its enough to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
"With the tree there that helps also, they were fascinated with the tree being so big," Sadler said. "We wanted to catch it at night also to see the lights."
It was a free event, but to ride the like the Ferris wheel or sled down the snow hill, guests had to pay $5.
The money collected will be used to make improvements to downtown Waco.
