A Hillsboro man is charged with evading arrest after he fled, during a traffic stop on Thursday night.

The 44-year-old, identified as John C. Farrow, was pulled over for a routine traffic stop when the troopers smelled marijuana and removed him from the truck tractor pulling a trailer. Farrow fled on foot.

A search was conducted with help from the Department of Public Safety Troopers, Hill County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and the Hill County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit. An unmanned aircraft was ultimately deployed and was able to locate and maintain a visual of the suspect until he was apprehended on the ground.

Farrow was taken to Hill Regional Hospital for treatment of his cuts and scratches from the chase. He was later transported to the Hill County Jail for an initial charge of Evading Arrest.
