Select McLennan County fire stations now have access to special pet oxygen masks.

Cen-Tex Kennel club saw a need in the community for pet safety during building fires.

The organization bought a total of 17 pet oxygen mask kits and gave them to several different stations around McLennan County.

Club secretary Jeanie Davis had a house fire two years ago, involving her pets.

Davis originally had the idea to purchase the masks. She calls them a great way to assist the firefighters.

"All people who have a pet, their pets mean a lot to them and they're a part of the family. So, we just want to be able to assist the firefighters to do their job and because they help us so much that day,” said Davis.

The club continues to encourage promote these pet masks to fire stations around the area.
