Just in time for the holidays, Communities In Schools Greater Texas is hoping to send students home with new shoes.
It is all a part of their annual Shoes 4 Kids Drive.
Staff working the drive, call the initiative, an important one.
"They're able to attend school with dignity you know. Attend class without being looked at, and just be proud you know not look at another child who does have shoes that are in better condition," said Christine Elias, Director of Special Projects and Marketing.
The drive ends on Dec. 14, however the nonprofit accepts donations year round.
Here are the different drop off locations:
- Communities In Schools Greater Texas, 4520 E. Central Texas Expwy., Ste. 106.
- Central Texas College, Roy J. Smith Student Center (Bldg. 106) 6200 W. Central TX Exprwy
- Salado Intermediate School, 550 Thomas Arnold Road
