The Texas A&M women’s tennis team added a new player to their roster Wednesday.

Lucia Quitério earned multiple ITF women’s circuit singles and doubles wins in 2018.

"Coach Szabo and I are excited to announce that Lucia Quitério will be joining our tennis team this January," Texas A&M women's tennis head coach Mark Weaver said. "Lucia comes in with a wealth of experience having competed at a very high level in both the ITF junior and also the ITF women’s circuit. She is extremely motivated in regards to the process that is involved in being a great tennis player. We are very happy that she will soon be a part of the Aggie Family.”

From Benedita, Portugal, she earned a career-high 11.16 UTR after earning 19 WTA in both singles and doubles after nabbing two top-600 wins in singles play and reaching the doubles finals at the Montemor-O-Novo in September.

According to tennisrecruiting.net, Quitério joins the second-best recruiting class in the country.

As the Aggies welcome Quitério, they have inked three blue-chip recruits already on campus, Jessica Anzo, Jayci Goldsmith, Katya Townsend and Australian, Renee McBryde.

Quitério will join the Aggies in spring 2019.
