The Salvation Army of Waco is accepting donations of toiletries, food and cold weather items.

On Tuesday, the nonprofit received a donation of toiletry items as part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

Their clients include homeless people, college students and grandparents raising children.

Director of Social Services YKenya Robertson said many of their clients visit the pantry to grab food, pick up toiletries, they may not be able to afford.

Currently, the nonprofit said it welcomes more of those donations because of an increase need.

"We need toiletries. That's very important but food is our number one thing that we really need because our shelves are bare. We may have a few cans in there. It's really important that people bring dry goods to us," Robertson said.

The Salvation Army is also in need of cold weather items.

You can drop off donations at the Salvation Army Family Store at 4721 W Waco Drive.
