Copperas Cove to hold Municipal Court Week

Posted

Copperas Cove joined other cities across Central Texas in celebrating Municipal Court Week to show appreciation for court staff.

In honor of the celebration, the city welcomes the public to stop by and visit the court any day this week.

At the court, visitors will find traffic safety materials and they are encouraged to meet the staff.

"The mission of our court is to make sure that people leave here feeling like they've been fairly treated. If I've accomplished that, then I think the respect for law will follow," said Judge Bill Price.

The goal of the week-long celebration is to share with the public the role municipal courts play in the criminal justice system.

"From the judges to the administrator and the court clerks, and the prosecutor and the bailiff, we just really appreciate the work that they do in seeing that justice is done in the City of Copperas Cove," said Kevin Keller, City of Copperas Cove PIO.

The city welcomes the public to stop by any day this week, Nov. 5 - 9, from 8 a.m. to noon or 1 - 5 p.m.

On Friday, from 8 - 10:45 a.m. the court will host an open house.
