Bledsoe-Miller Recreation Center hosted a trunk or treat event for families on Wednesday.
Many families from around the area came out to join in on the Halloween festivities.
The recreation center has a carnival that they hold every Halloween, but due to past lack of attendance, the staff felt that there was a need for a changeup.
Recreation center leaders felt that trunk or treat is a fun and safer alternative for kids to trick or treat.
“It’s safe, even though it’s raining, it’s a little wet, it still gives the kids an opportunity to walk around and get to trick or treat and just have a good time,” said Juliett Jones, Center Supervisor for the Bledsoe-Miller Recreation Center.
Staff from the recreation center that the event will encourage more people to get involved in activities that the facility has to offer.
